Hope and healing through the journey of life

Ever since I was a child, stories fascinated me. Not just storybooks, although I did love to read, but real stories about human experiences.  With each story and experience others around me shared, I was able to see the astronomical impact past experiences have on inner peace.

Even though I got to hear lots of people's stories, I knew there were hurting people out there who didn't have anyone to talk to. I also knew some people just naturally kept things to themselves because they were taught to "keep control of their emotions" and to "not talk about" things that had happened.

As I pursued by journey as a therapist, I got to hear more and more stories about how people have endured traumatic experiences such as grief and loss, life transitions, manipulation, and abuse. I also heard stories about topics people don't usually talk about--veterans' stories of war and deployment; couples' struggles with infertility and infant loss; birth parents who placed their children for adoption; medical professionals who feel guilty about the prognosis of their patients or losing patients; hard working people who lose their job unexpectedly; firefighters, police officers, and EMTs who witness trauma on a regular basis; and most recently, teachers who are struggling with unrealistic expectations.

Sometimes it's hard to see the masks that people wear on the outside because they  might look they are doing great and have their life together, but on the inside they might be struggling with simply trying to get through the day.

Whatever it is you're dealing with or struggling with, I would love to help you find healing and peace through the pieces that life has left you in.
